If main lighting is needed, the strip is treated as a source of working light rather than a decorative add-on. If the strip is not in a bathroom, not near steam and not on an open surface, IP20 adds no extra layer, does not complicate cooling and allows neat installation of the strip in a profile. LED density directly affects the visual effect: 120 LED\/m is enough for a soft outline, 240 LED\/m looks denser, and 320 LED\/m works well where an almost continuous line of light is needed.\n\nPower supply: calculation without mistakes\n\nAn LED strip power supply is not chosen at random but by calculation. The basic scheme is simple: the strip length in metres is multiplied by watts per metre, and then a unit with a power reserve is chosen. If a line consumes 120 W, a 120 W unit is not a sensible choice. People come for the strip, but the solution almost always also needs a profile, a power supply, sometimes terminals, a controller and related components.
